Signing in

How you sign in depends on whether you are a member of staff or an external guest. The sign-in page shows one of two options, and you do not choose — it is set for your account.

If you work for the organisation

You will see Sign in with your Microsoft account.

  1. Select the button. You are sent to the standard Microsoft sign-in page.
  2. Enter your usual work email and password — the same ones you use for Outlook and Teams.
  3. Approve the Duo prompt, if your organisation has second-factor authentication switched on.
  4. You are returned to ReportMesh, on the Reports page.

There is no separate ReportMesh password to remember. If your work password changes, ReportMesh follows automatically.

If you are an external guest

You will see an email and password form instead.

  1. Enter the email address your invitation was sent to, and your password.
  2. Enter the six-digit code from your authenticator app when prompted.

Your account is created by an administrator inside the organisation who invites you — there is no self-service sign-up. The invitation email contains the link you need to set your password.

Setting up your authenticator app

The first time you sign in, you are shown a QR code. Scan it with an authenticator app — Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, Authy, or any other TOTP app — and it will start generating six-digit codes for ReportMesh.

Do this before closing the page. If you lose the code, an administrator has to reset it for you.

Keep your authenticator app safe

Losing access to your authenticator app locks you out. If you replace your phone, set up the authenticator on the new one before disposing of the old one.

Forgotten password

The sign-in page has a Forgot password link, which applies to external guests only. If you sign in with your Microsoft account, your password is managed by your organisation's IT team, not by ReportMesh, so use your normal password reset process instead.

Problems signing in

What you seeWhat it usually means
"Unable to reach the sign-in service"A connection problem rather than a wrong password. Try again shortly; if it continues, tell your administrator.
Signed in, but no reportsYour account works but nothing has been shared with you yet. See Finding your way around.
Access denied after Microsoft sign-inYour account exists in the directory but has not been given access to ReportMesh. Ask your administrator.
Two accounts with the same email

If you have both a staff account and an external guest account on the same email address, they are two entirely separate accounts, with separate passwords and separate reports. Signing out of one does not sign you out of the other.
