Welcome to ReportMesh
ReportMesh is where your organisation's reports live. Power BI reports and Excel workbooks sit together in one catalogue, behind your normal work sign-in, so you do not have to keep track of which folder or link holds the numbers you need.
What you can do
Everyone who signs in can:
- Find reports shared with them, by searching, filtering, or sorting the catalogue.
- Open reports in the app — Power BI reports and Excel workbooks alike, without leaving ReportMesh.
- Mark favourites so the reports you use daily stay at the top.
- Ask questions in plain English about a report's data, where your administrator has switched that on.
Depending on what you have been given, you may also be able to add reports to the catalogue, share them with colleagues, and see how they are being used.
What you will see depends on your role
ReportMesh gives different people different screens. If a section of this guide describes something you cannot find, you almost certainly hold a different role — that is by design, not a fault.
| Role | What it means for you |
|---|---|
| User | You open the reports shared with you. This is most people. |
| Publisher | You also add reports to the catalogue, share and manage any report in it, and see the people and groups you share with. |
| Administrator | You also manage people, groups, and settings, and see usage across the portal. |
One point worth being clear about: reports that have not been shared with you are invisible, not just locked. If a colleague mentions a report you cannot see anywhere, it has not been shared with you yet. Ask whoever owns it, or your administrator.
Being an Administrator does not automatically let you read every report either. Administrators can grant themselves access, and that grant is recorded — but running the portal and seeing the numbers are deliberately separate things.
